Yes, don’t create and sell online courses.
Nowadays many people are just creating courses worth 100Rs, 200Rs, etc to make some quick cash. Not only are they breaking the trust of people to buy good online courses, but also they are wasting people’s time and money.
A good online course creator should be good enough at what they are teaching. They should have a few qualities that I am going to talk about in this blog post.Â
Do you have the below-mentioned qualities in you? If not, then please don’t create and sell online courses. So, let’s start.Â
Practice what you preach
Are you implementing the things that you are teaching to your students?
If not, then what is the difference between you and an average college professor who is just sharing bookish knowledge?Â
For example, digital marketers like Digital Deepak, Digital Pratik, Siddharth Rajshekar themselves practice blogging, podcasting, and making courses and then they share their knowledge with their students in the form of their courses.Â
It is not the other way round.Â
Have Clarity
Have clarity on which topic you want to take a course on.
If you have 3 to 4 topics in your mind and are asking others which one should you choose then stop. Don’t go ahead because if you are not clear, then you will mostly confuse your students too.
You should be 100% confident about what you are going to teach. You have to ask yourself and not others. If not, then you are doing a disservice to the people buying your online course.
Have a giving mindset
Do you feel it from inside that you have to contribute/share your knowledge with the world? Do you feel it that you want to really help them? Ask yourself.
Doing it for monetary benefits and leverage that selling online courses give you is not a good idea.Â
You have to think long term. Are you giving them a comprehensive course or just superficial content? Don’t do it for fame or anything else.Â
Are you going to be there for your students to answer their questions in live sessions every week? Are you encouraging them to network with each other? Are you constantly thinking about how you can add more value to your student’s lives?Â
If you answered yes to the above questions then go ahead create and sell online courses.Â
Conclusion
Creating an online course is for those people who have the expertise and the mindset mentioned in the above points.Â
The teachers deeply value the trust, time and money of the people who are investing in their brand. They really care about their students.Â
Do you have these qualities in you? If not, then please do not create and sell online courses until you have this attitude.Â
