How to increase your sales using social media, email marketing, and your blog posts
Getting a customer is easy. But,
Getting the same customer to buy again and again and again from you is difficult.
You have to architect a return path to improve your sales online. Your goal is to take your prospect from their before state to their ideal after state. For that to happen you have to have something to sell, either your own products or affiliates. Keep on selling until someone says NO or you run out of products.
It takes 7 to 13 conversations with someone on average to make a sale
In this article, I am going to 5 ways on how to improve sales by making someone a regular customer.
Constant communication

This is the most basic thing to do. You have to keep on engaging with your customers on a regular basis. At Least once a week you should interact with them. It can either be in the form of social media posts or live sessions, blog posts, or whatever. Just let them know that you are here to add value to their life.
Show them you care about them. By doing this you are building trust with your existing customers and hence eventually when you offer something to sell, they will happily buy it if it is what they want or needs.
For example, if you sign up with MakeMyTrip for a small vacation, then they will constantly be in touch with you through emails and app notifications. So, next time if they offer you a discount for another trip, you will prefer MMT compared to other platforms, won’t you?
It is much more expensive to gain new customers compared to maintaining old customers. Like we have our mobile network companies like Airtel who will send you a message that your internet pack is going to expire, 2 days before the expiry date.
Exit offers

Exit offers are effective when they are relevant to the page that your customer is exiting. For example, if you are buying a shoe from a website then an exit offer of a “pair of socks” is more relevant and hence has a high chance of being successful.
The number one rule here is to ‘not be spammy’. You must have different offers for different products and services.
Use Google images to get some inspiration for the content and design. Also, you may use optinmonster or optimonk to make those exit offers to increase your sales.
Retargeting/Remarketing

This is a very good cookie-based technology. You may use it as a follow-up mechanism to target those customers who visited your landing page or sales page but did not buy.
Use Facebook Custom audiences and segment them based on their interests and activity. Retarget them with a lead magnet and get them into your funnel.
If you have a funnel in place you can spend more to acquire a customer again. Hence, the golden rule is, whoever can spend the most to acquire a customer wins.
Full Funnel Retargeting

This method is similar to retargeting but the only difference is that here you can retarget them after every stage of the funnel to buy your product/service in that stage.
In the former method, you must retarget them with only your specific lead magnet for them to get them in your funnel.
Full funnel retargeting reminds people to take action. People usually promise something or they are just going to buy and get distracted. At such times this method will help you improve your sales.
Automated email follow-up

The money is made in the follow-up.
Here you can follow the simple email marketing strategy of sending the following types of emails to your customers:
- Indoctrination types of emails
- Engagement emails
- Ascension emails
- Segmentation emails
- Re-engagement emails
Read the complete article about the types of emails here. Email marketing has high conversions if done right because email is a personal space.
Conclusion
I know you have understood how to improve sales by making someone a regular customer. To summarize I would say engage, sell until they say no, and remind them to take action. Use emails and social media to the fullest and add in your blog posts content too, to pitch your products from time to time to your regular customers.
Doing this will increase your sales from your regular customers. You can use this in any type of business you do like freelancing or even if you have a large company.
